Overview


The Wild Unknown is looking for an ecommerce magi, ideally with hands-on experience building their own company from the ground up, as the position being hired is multi-faceted and requires 360 degree knowledge of brand evolution, sales,  social media and email marketing. We are seeking a collaborative thinker, a problem solver, and hard worker with the strength to work independently to deliver results.

 

Job Description


The Wild Unknown’s Ecommerce Manager will be primarily responsible for managing the ecommerce department of a company with a handful of flagship products and a significant online presence. The Manager will handle decision-making for the website, social media accounts, and a weekly newsletter. Responsibility will also extend to the research and development of new online marketing strategies, including curating photo assets, creating product copy, and overseeing brand cohesion. Initially they will also need to be comfortable sourcing an off-site warehouse, overseeing the creation of brand cohesive packaging, managing promotions and campaigns, and generating sales analytics to meet monthly sales goals as well as oversight of a new website buildout and launch. The Wild Unknown is based in NYC but the right candidate can work remotely and hours will range from 30 to 40 a week.


Duties include:

- Site copy and product descriptions

- Creative direction for email marketing

- Interfacing with social media team

- Creating a marketing calendar

- Generate / overseeing branding in packaging 

- Manage promotions and campaigns (sales, discount codes, giveaways, charity donations)

- Inventory management

- Optimize user experience according to conversion 

- Customer service

- Point of Contact for all involved in website 

- Present monthly and quarterly on well being of site / projections / possibilities / recommendations 

- Photography of new products (and existing products as needed)

- Oversee brand cohesion on site


The Ideal Candidate

- Self-driven, able to work independently as well as follow creative direction

- Has knowledge and an understanding of The Wild Unknown as a brand 

- Detail oriented, must maintain a high standard of aesthetic

- Confident, reliable, good communicator, able to manage others.

- Proficient with: Shopify, Dropbox, MS office,MailChimp

- Highly motivated, adaptable, and eager to develop new skills

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

- Sharp attention to detail and consistency

- Knowledge of social media and shopping app integration


Required Education and Experience

- BFA, BA, or work experience equivalent

- Experience starting a brand or working in ecommerce (2 year minimum)


Compensation

Salary plus performance based sales incentives
