In 2014 Kim and Arjan began donating a percentage of their holiday sales to a cause close to their hearts: the construction of a public library and health center in Cameroon, Africa, a project initiated by The Himalayan Institute. The first public library in Cameroon of its kind, the library provides space for stillness, reflection and education to adults and schoolchildren alike.
In July 2015, Kim and Arjan traveled to Cameroon, Africa to see The Wild Unknown's fundraising in action. After a fifteen hour bus ride through the mountains, they landed at The Himalayan Institute Cameroon.
Getting to see first-hand the Institute's efforts to understand the needs of the community and introduce thoughtful change was inspiring, leading Kim and Arjan to pledge their continued support of the model's expansion throughout the region.
